Maksims Shentelevs is an architect and phonographer based in Riga, Latvia. Active in field recording since 2002. Treats sound gathering as non intervention policy into nature observation. In his field research mainly interested in biotopes referring habitats of insects and small beings. Recently involves self-made instruments as tools for interplay with nature.
Since 2006 works on site specific research project soundscape mapping. In 2007 initiated sound art project bērnu rīts [the children's matinee]. In 2008 based cd-r label molmika. Organizes sound workshops, lectures and performances. Often in collaboration with Patrick mcGinley and John Grzinich
